Looking for an exciting activity that you can share with your children? Finding something that can interest teenagers and that parents can share in is not easy.
Scuba diving is adventurous and fun and can be undertaken by anyone over the age of 12.
BEDSAC has a growing junior section with a number of parents learning alongside their children.
We take Safeguarding very seriously and all our instructors are DBS (used to be called CRB) checked and have undergone specific safeguarding training. The Club has a strict safeguarding policy so you can be confident that children are safe in this respect.
What about children under 12?
Scuba diving is a potentially dangerous activity, though if properly trained no more so than crossing the road! Some degree of maturity is required and for this reason, the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) has a minimum age limit of 12 years. However, we can do try-dives in the swimming pool for those as young as 8 years old although they can't start formal diving training until they are 12.
We can though train younger children, age 8 upwards, to snorkel (as long as they are competent swimmers) which is a great way to develop an interest in the underwater world.
