BedSAC is an independent dive club, formed in 1960, catering for over 100 divers of all backgrounds and interests, from in and around Bedford.

Bedford Sub Aqua Club incorporates Branch 89 of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) and Club 334 of the Sub Aqua Association (SAA).

Membership of BedSAC is open to anyone aged 16 or over.

We meet every Tuesday evening at Robinson pool for lectures, swimming, snorkelling and training from 7pm to 10pm, and then we head over to the Bedford Rowing Club for a beer and a chat.

We provide training at all levels using the internationally-recognised BSAC training and qualification scheme. Our divers organise trips all around the UK and all over the world; from training dives in local flooded quarries, to sites along the south coast of England, and the west coast of Scotland and Wales, either using charter boats or Rigid-hull Inflatable Boats; as well as to numerous destinations abroad.

When you join the club you commence with initial diver training on Tuesday evenings; lectures from 7pm to 9pm and pool training from 9pm to 10pm.

All training equipment is provided, but you will be expected to purchase your own fins, mask, snorkel & weightbelt early in the course; this will cost in the region of £75 from one of the local dive shops.

The initial pool training takes about 12 weeks to complete depending on how often you turn up and how quickly you progress. Once you have completed pool training you start in sheltered open-water sites.
